Give your website a routine after launch.

1. Check the recovery plan

A complete WordPress backup needs the database and website files. Confirm what is being saved, where copies are kept and who can restore them. Match the backup frequency to the site's activity, and take a backup before an upgrade. A backup you cannot locate is not a useful recovery plan.

2. Review available updates

Check the update area rather than assuming everything is current. WordPress provides an update screen and may apply some updates automatically. Know which parts of your setup are managed automatically and which need attention. Follow the official update guidance and have a recovery route ready.

3. Walk through important journeys

Open the site on desktop and mobile. Try the contact route, key navigation and any agreed booking or purchase flow. Confirm that messages reach the intended destination. A page can look fine while a form, link or next step is no longer working as expected.

4. Keep information useful

Review the details people use to make a decision.

• Current services, product information and prices
• Contact details and linked social profiles
• Links to important pages or downloads
• Images, announcements and content that have become outdated

5. Keep a simple record

Log the changes made, problems found and checks completed. That record helps a business owner and support provider see what has already been done. If something changes after an update, it also gives the investigation a useful starting point.

6. Make responsibility clear

Agree who handles software, backups, content and urgent issues. If maintenance is outsourced, the proposal should specify the included work and communication process. Review the arrangement when the website gains features or becomes more important to daily operations.
